The Grimm Legacy

I have been sick, so I thought I would do a review.

The Grimm Legacy is about a girl who stumbles upon The New York Circulating Material Repository. Which is a library for objects. When she applies and is given a job there, she discovers the basement  is filled with magical objects from The Grimm Fairy tales. People can borrow the objects just like a regular library, but they soon start disappearing. Elizabeth, Marc, Anjali, Aaron, must figure out who is taking the objects before they end up in the wrong hands.

This was a very enjoyable read! I loved the way she developed the characters, how they all had such distinct personalities. While being exciting and riveting there was also an element of romance. The romance was not smothering though, it wasn’t truly revealed until the end, but if you read between the lines it was there the whole time.

Written by: Polly Shulman   325 pages   27 chapters
There is a sequel!! Which I only recently found out about, but I can’t wait to get my hands on it. The sequel is called The Wells Bequest. If any of you read it let me know how it is!

Happy Reading

Cryptid Hunters by Roland Smith

Okay, so I’m really nervous about writing this post, but I have been putting it off for too long. This review is about the book/series Cryptid Hunters by Roland Smith. The reason I’m so nervous about writing this review is because this series is like top three in my favorites and I can’t truly put into words how awesome this series is. So bare with me.

Cryptid Hunters is about Grace and Marty, (whom are twins,) who find out that their parents went missing while in the Amazon. Their parents are famous photojournalists, and went missing after their plane crashed. The twins uncle, (that they didn’t know they had,) comes forward and decided to take the twins under his wing. They find out that their uncle lives on his own island, he owns a company called ewolfe, and most surprising about their new found relative, is that he searches the world for cryptids. A cryptid is an animal that is thought to be real, but can’t be scientifically proven. Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster, and the Yeti, are all cryptids. Anyways, Travis Wolfe, (the twins uncle,) finds out that a man named Dr. Blackwood is going to the Congo to hunt down the Mokele-mbembe, which is a cryptid dinosaur. Travis decides that he must go and stop Dr. Blackwood before he finds the dinosaur. Can he get there in time?

I fell in love with this series the moment I opened the first book. This series is actually what led me to realize that I wanted to be a photojournalist, so it holds a special place in my heart.

There are two books in the series and the third will be coming out September 24th!!!!!  I am so excited!!!!
1st book: Cryptid Hunters  348 pages (paperback)  33 chapters
2nd book: Tentacles  319 pages (paperback)  48 chapters
I will be sure to review the third book, which is called Chupacabra, as soon as I get it. Roland Smith is an amazing author, so be sure to check out his other books!

Happy Reading!!!!!

It’s been too long

Hi guys! I don’t know how many followers I still have since I haven’t posted anything in like forever. I have been so caught up in school, it is unreal! I literally have like 3 papers due every night, and weekends aren’t any better. But things are starting to level out so hopefully I will be able to start posting again! Yay!
I have also been thinking about starting another blog. I know what you guys are thinking, “How is she going to keep up another blog if she can’t even update the one she has?” But I will make it work, and it’s not set in stone or anything, just a thought. I have even come up with a name, “Being a Writer is Slowly Killing Me.” Hence the title, it will be about the struggles of writing and maybe I will even share a few of my pieces with you. Who likes the idea? Let me know if I still have any followers out there!!

Happy Reading!
